Who we are

AirconCalculator (airconcalculator.co.uk) is an independent UK website. You can contact us at hello@airconcalculator.co.uk with any privacy-related questions.

What we collect

Nothing that requires your consent in v1. The site is static — it is served as pre-built HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files. There is no account system, no login, and no form that stores your submissions on our servers.

Core calculator inputs (room dimensions, wattage, usage and tariff) are processed entirely in your browser. They are never sent to us.

We do not currently use any consent-requiring analytics (such as Google Analytics). If that changes, we will update this page and, where required by law, ask for your consent first.

Optional postcode and property lookups

The calculators work without a postcode. If you choose a postcode-powered feature, the postcode is sent to Postcodes.io to validate it and obtain approximate coordinates. For regional carbon data, only the outward postcode (for example, SW1A) is sent to the National Energy System Operator. For solar context, approximate coordinates and the selected window direction are sent to the European Commission's PVGIS service.

If the optional EPC lookup is enabled and you use it, your postcode is sent through an AirconCalculator serverless function to the UK government's Energy Performance of Buildings API. The returned addresses are shown only so you can choose the correct property. We do not store postcode, address or EPC selections, and responses are marked not to be cached by browsers or shared caches. Standard hosting-provider security logs may still record that a request was made, but the postcode is sent in the request body rather than the URL.

These services operate under their own terms and privacy arrangements. Do not use the optional property lookup on a shared device if you do not want an address displayed on screen.

Server logs

Our hosting provider records standard web-server access logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, date and time). These are used only for security monitoring and diagnosing technical faults. They are not shared with third parties for marketing purposes and are retained for a limited period per the hosting provider's policy.

Affiliate links and third-party cookies

Some links on this site are affiliate links. When you click through to a retailer (such as Amazon), that retailer may set cookies on your device. Those cookies are governed entirely by the retailer's own privacy policy — we have no access to them and no control over them. You can find Amazon's privacy notice at amazon.co.uk/privacy.

We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade any personal information to third parties. We do not use any advertising networks that profile you across the web.

Your rights

Because we collect very little personal data, there is generally nothing for us to provide, correct, or delete on request. If you believe we hold personal information about you and wish to exercise any rights under UK GDPR, contact us at hello@airconcalculator.co.uk and we will do our best to help.

Changes to this statement

If we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes that affect your rights we will add a notice to the homepage.
